We’re currently being drenched under the watery weight of Tropical Depression Bill as he expends his energy over the Ohio River Valley. And although we’ve had our share of rain this week, all the denizens of the garden could use a good soaking as we lean into the the maw of Summer tomorrow, the Solstice, the longest day of the year.
The Columbine (or Granny’s Bonnet or Aquilegia) will soon be finished, making way for more heat-loving flowers. But, my-oh-my, how their beauty graces us while they’re here.These little darlings do their level-best to inspire us with their soft beauty and delicate features. Walking among these graceful dancers reminds us that despite all the ugliness and mean-spiritedness in the world, there is loveliness and goodness and kindness, as well.
